Stop Waiting for Rock Bottom to Become Who You’re Meant to Be.

When I was going through one of the most disruptive seasons of my life, I somehow knew it was going to take two years to find my footing again.

And in that knowing, I faced a choice.

I could come out the other side bitter, hateful, and resentful. Or I could come out more grateful, more resilient — because I did the work inside the disruption.

I chose the latter. I’m not defined by my challenge. I’m refined by it.

But here’s what I want you to hear: you don’t need a massive life disruption to change the course of your life.

You just need awareness — and the commitment to choose who you want to be.

We all get stuck in patterns. Some serve us. Some don’t.

So we go to conferences, read the books, find the podcast that lights us up — and for a moment, we’re on fire.

Then we go home. And our routines absorb us right back.

I call it the sunburn effect: red hot in the moment, faded by the time you’re back in your normal habitat. And with it comes the quiet disappointment of not becoming who you know you could be.

So here’s what I want to offer you today: permission to reset.

No New Year’s resolution. No conference. No perfect moment.

Just this: get a clear picture of the person you aspire to be. See them fully alive, inspired, operating at their best. Now watch what they do — how they start their mornings, how they lead their teams, how they move through the world with intention.

Then make those habits yours.

It’s that simple. And it’s that hard.

The simple part is identifying the behaviors. The hard part is committing to them — and letting go of what’s quietly working against you.

I’ll bet you can name three things you need to stop doing right now to step into the better version of yourself.  (Write them down … right now.)

You don’t have to wait. You don’t have to earn it.

All growth starts with a choice — followed by action.

So: who do you want to be? Today is a great day to decide.
